Justin Tanner infuses his quirky insight and jaundiced sense of humor within the hilarious machinations of self-deluded community theater actress Ginny (Laurie Metcalf) and her catatonically despairing vocal coach Nate (French Stewart).

I was chosen to participate in the American Film Institute’s (AFI) Directing Workshop for Women (DWW) this summer.  It is a very prestigious workshop and I am thrilled to be a part of it.  We are required to raise money for the budget of our film up to $25,000.  I am donating some of my own money but I need your help to make the film.  Due to a little snafu that kept me out of the country the Fundraising Event I was planning for the end of May will not be able to happen so now I am forced to simply ask for cold hard donations.
ALL the money will go to the renting of equipment and purchasing of supplies for the film. No cast or crew is allowed to be paid or will profit financially from your donations.

My short film is a heartwarming and comical tale about two elderly women who plan an escape from a nursing home at all costs even though all the odds are stacked against them.  If you’d like a copy of the script in pdf format email me at sunnyview.film@yahoo.com.  It’s just nine pages.

This project is very close to my heart having had a great grandmother in a nursing home and close relationships with all my grandmothers.  For donating to my film you will always know that you helped me make my directing dream a reality.

ANY amount you can donate would be invaluable and make this short possible.  Also, if you could please pass this along to anyone that you think might be interested in donating, that would also be very helpful to the project.

There are 3 ways to donate.

1.     I’ve included the credit card donation slip that you can send to AFI.  Fill it out and mail.

2.     I’ve included a check donation letter.  If you write a check the check should be made out to AFI or American Film Institute and my name, Courtney Rowe and/or the script title “SUNNYVIEW” should be written in the memo section on the check.

3.     I set up a fundraising account at IndieGoGo: http://www.indiegogo.com/project/view/4273

For AFI they will send you a letter confirming your donation that can be used for tax write off purposes because AFI is a non-profit organization.  However, AFI says that though some times this donation is tax deductible you HAVE to check with your tax preparer since AFI cannot guarantee a tax write off.
