THAT’S A WRAP
After an amazing year, over 35 original videos and 6 plus hours of hysterical original programming, traveling the country to film festivals and awards shows, meeting the fans, introducing audiences to funny and foxy women, finding ourselves in these crazy characters and blowing-up lesbian stereo-types, we are very sadly saying good-bye to 3Way…
What started out as an experiment during the Writers’ Strike — to test if there was really a way to make money and support network quality entertainment on our own owned and operated website, turned into something more than that. It became incredibly rewarding and personal. Everyone involved who gave their time and talent to this project (and you amazing fans!) are responsible for this groundbreaking series and gift not only to the GLBT community but to everyone gay or straight. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!…
Because of your support and enthusiasm, we spent a lot of time and energy pitching to the networks trying to find a home. And don’t get us wrong, we love the freedom and power of the internet and if we had the time and money, we’d be way into our 2nd season by now. So, short of some financial angel funding us, we are forced to let it go and pursue other paying opportunities.
We can only hope that this is not the end of our opportunity to create this kind of entertainment whatever the platform. And we are working on new projects right now. But until then, do what you love with
those you love.
On behalf of all of our producers and cast, we’d like to thank everyone who gave their time and talent, our amazing directors, writers, guest cast and crew, our partners at Clockwork, our friends at Afterellen.com, Michael Helms, G. Charles Wright, the musical artists, everyone who gave to this project, and especially our fans… Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Nancylee, Maeve and Paige

April 3, 2009 @ 9:57 amSo sad. I really was hoping you’d pull it off. I found your show completely by accident (and never laughed so hard) and now regularly visit shewired, jillbennett.com, cathydebuono.com, and many other gay women’s sites. Thanks for getting me back in touch with my sisters and I’ll be waiting patiently for that dvd release.

April 3, 2009 @ 10:28 amWhat a ride! Sad to find out that there won’t be a second season, but I am happy there was a first one. Whenever I need a good guffaw, I come on over and watch a random episode or confessional. Good times, good times. I hope y’all survived the wake! I wish you ladies all the best in your creative endeavours and I look forward to the DVD release. I also hope that you will find the time to continue to keep us posted on all of your upcoming projects (theatre, tv/movie/web) via the 3Way blog here.
Happy trails! And thanks for all of the hard work put in to making 3Way.

Much love to you guys!

April 7, 2009 @ 1:34 pmis there anything we fans can do to help at this point (letter writing or something)? surely somebody out there sees the value and the established fanbase for the show…
Nancylee said,
April 8, 2009 @ 11:41 amWe wish that writing letters or a fan uprising would help. But at the end of the day if the networks don’t think it’s a good “fit” for them (either content wise or financially)there is nothing the fans or producers can do to push it through. And if we had the cash to burn, you know we’d be making it happen. We need our own network… hmmmm.

April 25, 2009 @ 2:31 pmI just did a segment with Jill Bennett for SheWired. Totally fun, we made and drank (of course) some great cocktails and talked about 3Way and what’s next. Stay tuned, we will let you know when it’s up and give you links.
PS A special shout out to all you fans on our 3Way MySpace. When we announced our wrap you all showed up and posted such kind and sweet comments to us. FYI, Paige runs that site for us and feels very connected to all of you. We love our community and want to keep it going for whatever is next. xo

May 3, 2009 @ 11:16 pmI have to say I am some what heart broken to find that the ladies of 3 Way will not be returning. Okay maybe I’m completely heart broken. There is so few shows on television or elsewhere for the lesbian community. The greatest thing was with Maeve there was a hint of gay and straight artists being able to come together to make such a quality show. When I found this web site I sat up until 4 am watching all the episodes and continued reading blogs, etc. I am recooping from a knee replacement and was hoping for new episodes as I recoop.
Thank you ladies, one and all for making me laugh and it is with a tear in my eye – I say see you later – never goodbye. I will be watching for the opportunity to purchase your DVD. I promise and confess my crush on Jill Bennett will continue on.

May 8, 2009 @ 3:54 pmOk… this is why i hate internet shows. they take the audience as their guinea pigs to see if they are “good” and if people like them they pitch it to the networks and when they don’t get picked they just drop it. Then they just type a few lines saying how great the experience was and how much they thank the fans and bla bla bla… It’s extremely dissapointing. I mean, why not just tape the show and take it to the networks BEFORE getting people to love it. This show how “much” they care about the fans. And on top of that they are hoping we’ll buy the DVD. It’s just plain insulting.
Nancylee said,
May 8, 2009 @ 9:48 pmDear Linda, I’m so sorry you feel abandoned, used, or like a guinea pig. It was never our intention. We did this out of our own pockets because we loved doing it and knew the community wanted something more than the occasional lesbian character on network TV. We also knew that there was a gaping hole for lesbian comedies in any media.
The sad truth is that it takes money to do this. We are not independently wealthy, which is why we took it to the networks to get funding to keep it going after we saw what joy we were bringing to the fans. And FYI, the DVD is because our fans asked for it. The amount of sales we will get will never cover our deficit.
I hope the fact that we are unable to continue does not sour the experience and joy that we may have brought you.

May 9, 2009 @ 3:25 amNancylee I have a question for you. Will the DVD have any unaired scenes or extras? I hope it will include the confessionals. I will be watching this web site for the release of the DVD unless there is a different one.
I can understand Linda’s frustration and disappointment. I am hopeful 3Way opened the door for future shows of this quality. There are entertainment leaders in our community such as Ellen or Melissa Etheridge and you. Thank you for the laughs. Once again I promise and confess my crush on Jill Bennett will continue on.

May 10, 2009 @ 1:49 pmThank you, Nancy T. Yes, there’s additional footage, episodes and confessionals. Along with the behind the scenes videos. Sorry it’s taken so long to get it out to y’all. It turned out to be a bit more costly and complicated than we thought. But we’ve got it all together and are ready to pull the trigger. Stay Tuned… nl xo

May 18, 2009 @ 5:54 pmNancylee, How long will this web site stay active? I have to admit I need to read computers for idiots because I don’t understand alot about the world wide web.
I stop by here every two or three days to see if there are any posts or if anyone is around and all I hear is an echo. I fear visiting and the furniture will be gone – so to speak.
I think what I liked about 3way is it was like visiting friends. One’s who make you laugh and I miss them, all four of them.
Hmm, now my question is whether to sign off with me undying crush on Jill. Guess I just did. Thanks for keeping us updated on the DVD.

May 20, 2009 @ 11:16 amHere’s the latest… Maeve Q, Paige and I had a Pow Wow this morning(euphemism for nothing). And we’ve made some big decisions. The site will stay up and running until the end of the year, for sure. So we can keep the community going. We are putting up some new content in the next two weeks. And regarding the DVD, still figuring out the details, but it’s good for everyone. Here’s your hot tip — Ladies, fire up your DVD burners!

August 18, 2009 @ 6:55 amNo, I can’t believe you guys have to end after one season:(. Thank you for making 3way, and I’m lucky to have watch you even if it’s only for a few months. Will wait for the DVD release, but you’re not serious about DVD burners are you? I was kind of hoping you’ll have it on stores like Amazon or Wolfe video or even purchasing through your site. I wouldn’t mind paying if it means it’ll help you guys have the money for season 2.
