My Kind of Town, Chicago is…

Posted by 3WayTV on October 21st, 2008

Hello! Clear your calendar, cash in those airline miles, roll your beer money, and strap on your… uh, fanny pack — We’re going to Maeve Quinlan’s home town, Chicago! Here’s what’s shaping up to be the most outrageous 3Way road trip to date. (That is if you don’t count that lost weekend in Palm Springs, which our attorneys have asked us not to talk about).

CHICAGO!

The Reeling Film Festival
http://www.chicagofilmmakers.org/~reeling/reeling2008/index.html
is rolling out the rainbow carpet for us with a Screening and Showtime and L Word sponsored Party on Saturday, November 15th. Plus we are having a Meet and Greet where you can get a little one on one with the 3Way gang before our screening. Check out all the details below.

So come and join the 3Way traveling troupe – Maeve Quinlan, Jill Bennett, Cathy Shim, Maile Flanagan, Elizabeth Keener, Cathy DeBouno – Directors, Courtney Rowe, Paige Bernhardt, Nancylee Myatt, Lisa Knox-Nervig (Wave Babes) — and our Memphis gals, Ann Marie Hall and Penny McCraw for some good clean Mid-Western fun (okay, so our clean may be someone else’s dirty).

Speaking of Memphis… If you have Nancylee’s bra please bring it to Chicago.

AHHH MEMPHIS!

We have posted some additional photos on our site from that party weekend. And some never before seen video from our trip – look for it on the Lost Footage page. And check out Memphis Outflix photos in the Photos section.

You too can be a part of the 3Way experience – which is a nice way to say, if you show up in Chicago you might end up in a 3Way episode. Thanks to our fans and the folks at the Cockeyed Camel who let us use and abuse them…

POWER UP! LOS ANGELES

In other news… for those of you in and around Los Angeles, Nancylee is being honored by Power UP Sunday, November 9th, as one of the 10 Amazing Gay Women in Show Biz. http://power-up.net/pp.htm

It’s a fabulous Hollywood event hosted by Bridget McManus, where some of Nancylee’s friends from Afterellen.com Karman Kregloe, Sarah Warn, and Lori Grant will be there to party. And from some of your favorite NLM projects — Liz Vassey, Christina Cox, Gabrielle Christian, Mandy Musgrave, Elizabeth Keener, Kristy Swanson, Maeve Quinlan, Maile Flanagan, Jill Bennett, Cathy Shim, and Christina Carlisi will be there to help her celebrate, too. So come out and have some fun and support Power Up which is an organization that helps nurture the women that bring you great lesbian entertainment. Rumor has it that the gift bags will have the not yet released 3Way 1st Season DVD. I wonder who they know to get that?

See you in Chicago! Your SOB’s (Sleep Over Buddies),

Maeve and Nancylee

Yes, we are all confirmed for the Power Up Gala — It’s going to be a great night and we’ll be all dressed up and ready to party. Go to the Power Up website for all the details and tickets. And we look forward to meeting and hanging with you.

I’m finding out for you guys about age issues for the After Party. And we should know where the meet and greet is going to be in the next day or so. But it will for sure be on Saturday evening before our screening. At a bar near the theater. More as it unfolds!

Hi Nancylee–

Just checking to see if Christina Cox has cleared her schedule & will be going to Chicago? Would be awesome if she could make Chicago with all of you. Thanks, any info would be great. =0)

Nancylee said,

Christina is not going to Chicago. She’s being a good citizen of the world and spending time during Nov and Dec building houses for those in need. But she is however going to be at the Power Up Gala on Sunday, Nov. 9th in Los Angeles. She’ll be there with her LadyCops partner, Liz Vassey. Love it!

CHICAGO UPDATE: There is a 21 an older restriction on the after party at Evil Olive. So bummed for our younger fans who can’t get in. But our entire cast will be at the screening before and you’ll get a chance to catch up with them there. The Meet and Greet is now going to happen the first hour of the party to cut out some of the legwork and multiple locations. When we get to town and know what our other plans are that we can include you all in, we’ll post on the site. I know that a lot of us will also be at the closing events of the festival on Sunday, as well. Thanks!

i am considering making the trip to chicago from missouri, so i want to be prepared. what is the dress-code for the after party? i know it’s a stupid question but i don’t want to show up in jeans if everyone is wearing suits/dresses…ya know?

DJ said,

chicago! that’s (a) great (song by sufjan stevens)!!
…and only about 4000 miles away.

are you guys ever coming to europe, perhaps, maybe, within 10 years or so? that would also be great. me and my european friends (..) will be holding our breath awaiting your answer, sigh. thanks!

Nancylee said,

November 10, 2008 @ 1:21 pm

Hi Step — Not sure what the dress code is. Evil Olive is a bar, so I can’t imagine that jeans wouldn’t be allowed. But I would give them a call and ask. 773-235-9100. I know that our cast will be a little dressed up as we are hosting the screening and the party. And FYI we are going to also be marching in the nationwide gay rights rally in Chicago on Saturday afternoon and we will for sure be wearing comfy clothes and shoes for that. You can get details for the march at http://www.jointheimpact.com Looking forward to seeing you.

DJ — we would love to come to Europe! We’ve been asked to come to several film festivals there. But right now unless the festivals help us with travel costs it’s hard to make it happen. Hopefully we’ll be a big fat hit TV show next year and we’ll be able to travel more. Thanks for watching…

Anna said,

Will most of the cast members be coming to Chicago or has there been any change of plans? Just wanted to be sure who’s going to be there and who’s not. Thanks

I had a fantastic time at the screening and party last night in Chicago. Nancylee, Jill, Maeve, Cathy and Maile you were wonderful and gracious and I wish all of you the best. Thanks for coming the the rally and getting the march started. YOU ALL ROCK!
